My name is Irfan Shaikh, from Jalna, Maharashtra. For the past year, I have been bedridden after a tragic road accident that broke my spinal cord and the entire left side of my body weak below the waist. I have undergone 3 major surgeries, and my back is now supported with metal rods.
Today, I am completely dependent on my mother for my daily needs. My brother drives a rickshaw, earning just enough to feed our family, but there is no stable income. Before the accident, I worked in a madrasa, but now my days are spent in the hospital, undergoing physiotherapy, hoping to walk again.
